Interested in coaching NOVA WRFC?

NOVA is looking for multiple talented and dedicated individuals to contribute to our organization! Current vacancies are D2 Backs Coach and Director of Rugby / General Manager.

NOVA, established in 1982, is a two team club with active D1 and D2 sides, and a growing Development side. Our D1 side played in the last three Division 1 National Champion matches (2019, 2022, and 2023), taking home the 2019 and 2022 titles. NOVA plays in the Capital Geographic Union and the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8:15-10 PM, and games are mostly on Saturdays.

1. What is your leadership/coaching philosophy?

2. What are your coaching goals and your expectations for players?

3. As part of the interview process, we would also like you to submit a sample practice plan for 60 minutes with the full backline (9-15) plus subs (1 halfback, 1 center, and 1 back triangle player).

ADMINISTRATIVE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS (For Director of Rugby / GM post only)

1. What are your leadership and communication styles?

2. What makes a good team?

3. What experiences have prepared you to manage a club with 70-80 active members and two competitive sides, and what brings you to NOVA?

Availability Questions (For ALL posts)

1. What is your weeknight availability? Could you attend practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15-10 from mid-August through mid-November and the beginning of March through the end of May?

2. What is your weekend availability? Do you expect to have any regular conflicts with Saturday games?

3. Is there anything else we should know about your availability?
